Margaret Syta, PMHNP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Margaret believes the path to healing includes talk therapy, medicine when appropriate and hard work. In her psychiatric practice she treats adults age 18 and over for issues related to depression, anxiety, mood disorders and PTSD. Margaret is passionate about mental health and wellness. She knows there is more to improving mental health than medication alone. She believes medication is an appropriate addition when symptoms that are negatively affecting the quality of one’s life cannot be managed on their own or with the help of a therapist.

Professional Experience

Margaret strives to get to know and understand the needs of each of her clients. Her practice is a safe space where clients can share any concern. All matters discussed are confidential and dealt with in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner. Margaret’s goal is to make a positive contribution to the mental well being of all of her clients.

Margaret’s career has evolved from nursing where she primarily practiced in southern California working with oncology and HIV patients. She relocated back to Buffalo and pursued advance degrees as a nurse practitioner in adult medicine and psychiatry. In addition to her psychiatric practice, she works part time at Roswell Park as an adult nurse practitioner on the Lymphoma/Myeloma service.
